july is minority mental health awareness month! today, you can help the following organizations with providing mental health services to african-americans in need of a pick-me-up:



🧠 - Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation: established by actor and comedian Taraji P. Henson in 2016, the Boris Henson Foundation celebrates the life of Boris Henson; an Vietnam War veteran who lived with post-war mental health troubles.



🧠 - Black Girls Smile Foundation: founded in 2012, The Black Girls Smile Foundation supports the wellbeing of Black women from adolescence to adulthood. With mental health literacy programming, workshops, and an array of Therapudic resources, the Foundation supports Black women through all walks of life.



🧠 - The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity’s “Brother, You’re on My Mind” Initiative: When they aren’t strolling and stepped around at parties and college campuses, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorperated assists its brothers in finding mental health resources. Find resources on the website and attend meetings hosted by your chapter.



🧠 - The Lee Thompson Young Foundation:


The Lee Thompson Young Foundation Focuses on the mental health of college students. The Foundation also has a Mindfulness Scholarship, which provides financial and counseling assistance to freshman students.
